Hi everyone!
 Hello again everyone,
Well it's been another busy week at Easy English. Thank you to all the visitors who decided to check out Easy English this week and last week. I hope you all study hard and make your English Dreams come true.

We are unfortunately losing some students this month. Keitaro is going to Hiroshima to make his coffee shops successful. Also Yusuke is heading to Tokyo to become the next number one host in Chibuya! Good luck to both of you for your future, and remember that you will always have a home to come back to at Easy English. You will always be special to me and also to all the students that you studied with.

We are going to have a bit of a party for Keitaro this month on the last Saturday of the month. I hope everyone will be able to attend. We are also welcoming a new teacher at Easy English. His name is Stephen and he is running his own school from the next classroom. We are going to go to "Cotton fields" which is an American stlye restaurant in Nakasu. It's got great food and international beers. So should be a great time had for all. See you all there.

Thanks again everyone for supporting Easy English. Hope to see you all at school soon.

Jay.

Summer
 Hello everyone.
I know it's super hot at the moment and everyone's motivation to study is a little down, but don't worry. The cool weather will be coming soon and you'll be ready to get back on the horse again.

John is in Australia this month so we won't be doing a party this month. However we will be doing a party again in the middle of September. I hope everyone will be able to come. Now that the Obon holiday is over I hope you all feel refreshed and ready to study again. We are again offering our "no joining fee" summer campaign. So if you are looking for a new school then consider Easy English as an option.

Apart from that I have nothing else to report. Thank you to all the new students who have joined the school this month and last month. Study hard and you will see your english improve. Take care everyone. And I'll see you all soon. Jay.

Hey everyone!
Well, people have been asking me lately about a bbq party this month or next month. I think it's a great idea and it's something we haven't done at Easy English before. So on the last Saturday of this month we are going to try one of two options. Either we are going to go to John's house for a bbq party on the 29th of May, or we are all going to go to a beer garden on the same night and drink some beer and have some yakiniku. Both options are good and I'll have a chat with John this week and let everyone know next week what is going on.

Thankyou to all the new students who came to the last party just before golden week. Again it was a new restaurant, but I think the food and the service were pretty good.

We have a lot of new students joining the school recently and I'd like to personally thank them for choosing Easy English. I think recently students are looking for a better, cheaper option when it comes to studying english. I really hope that we offer that to students and that all students enjoy studying here, because I really enjoy teaching you all.

Anyway, I'm glad many students had a relaxing golden week and that you are all refreshed and ready to study hard this summer to achieve your english goals. I'll let everyone know about the bbq party soon. Have a great week everyone!

Geos
Hi everyone.
As you may have heard already, Geos Japan went bankrupt yesterday amid huge debt to banks. While I'm not surprised  to hear this news, it is still a little disappointing for me to see a company which I used to work for fail so quickly and moreover I feel for all my good friends who are still working at Geos and who's future is uncertain at this time.

In my opinion there are a few reasons why Geos has failed in Japan, and it doesn't have a lot to do with the failure of Nova, but it has more to do with the failure of the big english schools in general to remain competitive in an economy where value for money is becoming more and more of a focus in Japanese thinking. Geos and Nova were no longer value for money in most peoples' eyes and I'm not sure if they ever were. The cheapest contract at Geos when I was working there was about was about 130000 yen a year. The average price for a regular course was about 260000 yen a year. while that sounds reasonable for a yearly course of study, you have to keep in mind the quality that you would receive for that amount. To my knowledge, towards the end of Geos's existence teachers were not being trained by Geos and young teachers, often with no english teaching experience were walking straight into classrooms and teaching Japanese students the best they could. The quality of the lessons therefore were not equal to the amount of money charged by Geos.

Another reason Geos failed in Japan was over expansion. Even in the face of economic ruin, Management of Geos were naively looking to expand the size and reach of the company. In a healthy economy, this idea is sound. However, most people in Japan have understood that the economy has not been healthy for a long time now. In the new Japan, cost effective, smaller companies are continuing to succeed, all be it not to the same level as bigger companies. When things go wrong however and business is down, smaller companies are able to adapt and change to the new economic conditions, larger companies however have more difficulties in making dramatic changes. So I guess the message is not to be greedy and to keep your business manageable.

Finally, an offer to any Geos students who are not happy with the service they are getting from Geos at the moment. If you wish to make a change, Easy English is offering one month free to all past students of Geos. Again, Easy English is a small school with  a very relaxed atmosphere, where you'll be taught from qualified teachers who have had many years experience teaching in Japan. So if you're looking for a change than give us a call or an email. All the best to the students and teachers at Geos and I hope that everything turns out well for you in the long run.

Hey everyone!
Hello to everyone from Easy English.
Sorry I haven't written a blog for a while now but I have been on holidays for a few days over last week and I couldn't get to a computer to say hello.

I had a good time over the last few weeks. My wife was away in London so I got a chance to live the single life again. It was fun but I did miss her a bit and I spent too much money. I have to save now because I'm broke.

A couple of things to remember. The Easy English holiday is coming up over Golden Week and the school will be closed for a few days from the 29th of April to the 5th of May. We will be open again however from the 6th of May. I hope you all have a great holiday and you get a good chance to relax and recharge the batteries. If you don't have many days off, you could maybe just stay at home and watch your favourite english drama on dvd. There are a few options out there at the moment but I recommend the new "Heros" series which I watched over my holidays. It was pretty interesting but was a bit difficult to follow in a few parts. But check it out if you have a few days to kill.

Also remember we are having a party on the 24th of April. That's next week on Saturday night. We are all going to meet at Easy English at about 8:15pm and then we'll all walk to the resturant from here. Hope to see you all there and we can have a few drinks together.

Thanks to all the new students this month who have joined. Let's study hard together and learn some English. Take care everyone and I'll see you at Easy English this week. Jay.

the party.
Just a quick note to everyone about the party this weekend (the 20th of February). The place for the party has changed a bit. We were going to go to the hawaiian resturant in Daimiyo called "Nalu", but unfortunately we couldn't get into that resturant until 9:30 pm. This might have been a bit late for all the students who have to catch the last train home. So we decided to go to the small resturant across the street from Easy English called "Yajinke". Sorry to all the students who were looking forward to some tasty hawaiian food, but we will try to get a booking at that resturant for the next party. I hope you all get this message in time and don't end up going to the wrong resturant. I'm really looking forward to having a few drinks with everyone on Saturday. See you all there.

Hey everyone!
Well it's been a while since my last blog. It has been super busy at Easy English this month so I haven't really had any time to get onto the blog site to say hello. So hello.

Lot's of new students have joined Easy English this month and also the month before, so thank you to all the new students who have joined in December and January. I'm looking forward to studying hard together to achieve your goals. All the best of luck.

Remember also that Easy English is having a party this month on the 20th of February. We are going to a really great Hawaiian resturant in Daimiyo. The food is really delicious and it isn't too expensive. I hope all of you can make it. The price will be the same. About 3500 yen each. All of your friends or family are welcome of course.

Also we are thinking about possibly opening on Monday nights in the future to allow more lessons for students to attend. We are still thinking about this idea, but if the schedule gets much busier than it could happen sometime soon in the future. This will open up the schedule a bit more and make smaller groups which is the goal. So check your schedules and if you can come on Mondays than that might be an extra option for you soon. Take care every one and I'll see you all soon

Jay.
